This privacy policy applies to the Tree Meter app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by Abishkar Bhattarai (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as an Ad-Supported service. This service is intended for use "AS IS".

1. Government Affiliation Disclaimer

Tree Meter is a privately developed application and is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, or representing the Government of Nepal, the Ministry of Forests and Environment, or any specific Division Forest Office. Any reference to forestry laws (such as Forest Act 2076, Forest Regulations 2079) is for informational and calculation purposes only to assist forestry professionals and users.

2. Information Collection and Use

The Application collects information when you download and use it. This information may include:

• Device Information: Your device's Internet Protocol address (e.g., IP address), operating system version, and configuration.

• Usage Data: The pages of the Application that you visit, the time and date of your visit, and the time spent on those pages.

• Advertising ID: Used by Google AdMob to serve personalized ads based on your interests.

3. Location Data (GPS)

Unlike previous versions, this Application now requests access to your mobile device’s precise location (GPS).

• Purpose: This data is used solely to tag the geographic coordinates (latitude/longitude) of specific trees when you choose to save tree data within the app. This allows you to generate accurate reports of where volume calculations were performed.

• Storage: Location data is stored locally on your device. It is not transmitted to the Service Provider’s servers but may be included in the Excel/CSV files you voluntarily choose to share or export.

4. Device Storage and File Access

The Application requires permission to access your device's storage.

• Shared Preferences: Used to save your app settings and minor local data.

• File Export: The app generates Excel (.xlsx) and CSV files containing tree volume calculations and location data. To perform this function, the app requires permission to write these files to your device storage so you can share them via email or other apps.

5. Third Party Access

Only aggregated, anonymized data is periodically transmitted to external services to aid the Service Provider in improving the Application and their service. The Service Provider may share your information with third parties in the ways that are described in this privacy statement.

Please note that the Application utilizes third-party services that have their own Privacy Policy about handling data. Below are the links to the Privacy Policy of the third-party service providers used by the Application:

6. Data Retention Policy

The Application stores tree data and location logs locally on your device. You have full control over this data and can delete it at any time by clearing the app's cache/storage or deleting the specific entries within the app. The Service Provider does not store a copy of your personal tree data on external servers.

7. Children’s Privacy

The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case the Service Provider discovers that a child under 13 has provided personal information, the Service Provider will immediately delete this from their servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact the Service Provider so that they will be able to take necessary actions.

8. Security

The Service Provider provides physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information the Service Provider processes and maintains. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

9. Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
